Magic in Valxion
Magic is made up of the basic elements, people who can wield magic learn how to manipulate this magic either on their own through books or by elders. Most however are sent to the University to learn how to properly and safely learn magic.
People who are able to cast magic are able to do so because elements and spirits are constantly attracted to them it can also be hereditary.

Magic can be cast by saying the spell out loud before it is cast, words can be added to strengthen a spell or dull it. That being said a spell can be cancelled if the user is interrupted while casting. A spell can never be cast in ones own thoughts.
How magic works
Basically it is the manipulation of elements, for instance say a user wants to make a plant grow they cast a spell that will allow them to be able to manipulate the elements inside the plant and help it grow.
Another example can be condensing certain elements until they combust into a ball of fire in their hand.
