The Melez
They are a nomadic race who have lived in Valxion for many years, long before the first humans and elves immigrated into Valxion. They consist of many different tribes all around Valxion and all of them try to live a peaceful life, surviving off of what nature provides them.
Each Melez has different animal feature that can be visible. For example: ears, tail, horns, eyes and so on. Their size also varies depending on what animal characteristic they have. A Melez with cat characteristics would be shorter while one who would have features of a deer would be taller. They may also pick up traits of what animal they take after, such as being a fast runner if they have the traits of a rabbit or have more strength if they take after a bear.
(This is optional but if they have dark hair the more likely their skin tone will also be darker)
One Melez that has the traits of a deer and one that has the traits of a wolf can have children together, however the child can only take after one of the parents.

A Melez can live outside of a tribe and instead live among the cities and towns. They would be living amongst the humans and elves in a more modern life style. They can even become a part of the King's army. However they are considered to be a part of the low life and would generally be hated by both humans and elves.
Melez unfortunately are not seen as equals to the other races due to their animal like appearances, and because of this many Melez have been captured to be sold off as workers or slaves to nobles. They can even be born into slavery if one of the parents is owned as a slave.
Another thing to note is that a Melez that was born and raised within a tribe will most likely have tattoos or markings on their bodies while ones who were born in the city or into slavery will not.
