The History of the Melez
The melez live in many nomadic tribes all over Valxion and have the similar look to humans. The most obvious difference is their animal characteristics; including, but not limited to, ears, horns, eyes, and a tail. They are excellent hunters and trackers as they live mainly on the resources of the land around them. Long before humans came to Valxion, the different tribes of the Melez would often fight with each other for resources, while other times just over bad blood.
But once the humans and elves formed a treaty with one another they began to take more of the melez's lands. It wasn't long before they saw these animal like people as savages and began to use the Melez as slaves as well as doing other unspeakable things to these people. Shortly after this had begun, the tribes decided that they would set aside their differences and help each other with this new threat that haunted them. It was one leader that had brought all the tribes together to help defend themselves against the humans and elves, ones who now raided their temporary settlements and kidnapped their people. This leader's descendants follow as leader of the largest known Melez tribe. On top of this, they also lead the other tribes if and when there is reason for them all to gather.
