Their Main Hierarchy
Here is their hierarchy of the most important ranks within the tribes from top to bottom.
-Leaders -
They are all the other leaders that lead all of the various tribes, with the Sage leading the main tribe. (Our focus here is mostly on the large, main tribe.)Depending on their abilities, the leaders will send members of their tribes to work under the orders of the commanders. Leaders will also give roles to various Melez. The ones who become the Sage are always the oldest son alive. If there are no sons, then the oldest daughter will be leading as Sage. The leaders will communicate with each other using the help of birds to send their messages. If there is a need for them to ally again, they will regroup and discuss what decisions should be made. Leader Shikoba is the one that currently leads the biggest tribe as their Sage.
-Counselors-
The counselors will help the leader through his decisions. This is so he can have the views of others. There are six of them in total, each who have proven themselves fitting for that role. They are the six oldest males of the Melez, as the elders are treated with respect for their knowledge. The counselors do not make final decisions. They are a great help to the leader, being there to give him insight on decisions he plans to make. The only time that the counselors are needed for decision making is when the leader is too young to take the full responsibility. This temporary role is dropped when the leader is old enough and ready to lead.

-The gifted-
The gifted are the few Melez who were born with the ability to control magic. The Melez tend to believe the gifted have been blessed by the Gods with a sacred energy, and therefore are given a higher rank than most other Melez. Their roles are helping crops grow, healing injured Melez, and defense when needed. They are always taught by the elders on how to control their magic (if they are not in a tribe, they most likely end up in the university of Devotio for help with magic. Though, Melez often have a hard time with the other races in the school). Magic is never used to gain power or cause destruction, as the Melez consider it sacred. The gifted are seen as the Shamans among the tribes.
